OPEN WATER DIVER

The SSI Open Water Course is the first step in diver certification; it allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters, anywhere in the world.  Puerto Vallarta offers the perfect training area to complete your Open Water training and Silent World Divers creates the ultimate chilled out learning experience.  Our professional, experienced Instructors will share their enthusiasm for diving, teach you all the essentials of dive theory, and help you master the required skills in the confined water our spacious swimming pool.  Then you will put these skills and knowledge into practice in the Open Water one of our beautiful dive sites located around Banderas Bay.  Ages 10 and up can become Open Water Divers.

The course takes 3 to 4 days and includes 4 dives in the Open water. We limit the class sizes to a maximum of 4 students per instructor. This means everyone will get the most out of the course, and when you dive in the pristine clear waters around Puerto Vallarta  you will be able to fully appreciate the Turtles, Rays, Octopus, and an abundance of fish of many varieties. The environment of the Banderas Bay is perfect for taking your first steps into the Underwater World!  We are lucky to see many diverse sea creatures on our dives, even at shallow depths on beginner dives.

Schedule: 

Day 0 be at our dive center to try all diving gear and check paper work

Unless you already completed the SSI online theory

Day 1 Pool Session & Theory Review available from 9 am up to 4 pm

Day 2  9:00 am to 1:30 pmDives 1 and 2

Day 3 9:00 am to 1:30 pm dives 3, 4 and Final Exam.

Once you have completed your Open Water Course the chances are you will have a taste for more and will want to continue your dive education. Its always a good idea to go for a few dives shortly after you have completed the course, not only to reinforce the skills you have learned but also to enjoy the incredible variety of aquatic life the Banderas Bay have to offer.  After that and if you have caught the diving bug like so many of us before you, why not continue with your SSI Advanced Adventurer Course!!
