The Islas Marietas are located at the mouth of Banderas Bay, approximately 26 miles west of Puerto Vallarta. This protected marine area is home to an impressive variety of marine life and more than 90 species of resident and migratory seabirds. The islands were made famous through the films of Jacques-Yves Cousteau and are now one of the most recognized natural attractions in the bay.

Underwater, the islands offer some of the greatest marine diversity in Banderas Bay, with coral reefs, rocky formations, caves, and swim-throughs. Dive depths generally range from 20 to 80 feet, offering options for different experience levels. The reefs are home to abundant tropical fish, sea turtles, eagle rays, and other marine life, while the shallow reef areas are also known as cleaning stations for giant manta rays. Dolphins and humpback whales can also be spotted in the area, particularly during whale season. The shallow reefs are also ideal for snorkeling

Trip Duration

  • From 9:00 AM to 2:45 PM (approx.).

This Tour Includes:

  • 2 Fully Guided Dives: At different reefs
  • Full Rental Gear: All essential gear is included, except for a dive computer (available for an extra $200 MXN).
  • Onboard Refreshments: Purified water, sodas, and fresh seasonal fruit.
  • Lunch: A ham and manchego cheese baguette.
  • Small Groups: Maximum safety ratio of 5 – 4 divers per Divemaster or Instructor.
  • Federal park fee

This Tour Does Not Include:

  • Transportation to and from the pier.
  • Port entrance fee ($43 MXN per person).
  • Gratuities (customarily 10%–15% based on your satisfaction with the crew).

Boarding Time & Location:

  • Departure Time: 9:00 AM (Please arrive 25 minutes early for check-in).

What to Bring:

  • Physical or digital Certification Card (C-Card).
  • Bathing suit and towel.
  • Biodegradable sunblock, hat, and sunglasses.
  • A light sweater (highly recommended during the winter and spring seasons).
  • Note: If you are prone to motion sickness, we strongly recommend taking medication at least one hour before boarding. Don’t let seasickness ruin your dive!
