Islas Marietas are located at the mouth of Banderas Bay 26 miles west of Puerto Vallarta. They are a protected marine area since 2005 and most recently a World Heritage Site. There are over 90 different species of resident and migratory marine birds on the Islands besides the reefs with there extensive, teeming sea life. The underwater diversity is one of the greatest within the Bay, there are shallow coral reef bottoms with swim throughs and caves, dephts goes from 20 ft to 80 ft.

Jacques Yves Cousteau made the Islands famous thru his films. Dolphins and Humpback whales (in season) are common. The shallow areas of the reefs are cleaning stations for the giant Manta Rays.

This diving site is only for certified divers, snorkels are welcome.

Trip duration: from 9:00 AM to 2:45 PM (approx.).

This tour includes: 2 dives, federal park fee, rental all diving gear (except diving computer), purified water, sodas, seasonal fruit and a ham and cheese baguette.

This tour does not include: transportation to and from the pier, port fee entrance ($39 MXN), gratuities (normally 10%-15% of the cost of your tour).

Diving ratio: we take up to 3 couples per Divemaster or Instructor.

What do you need to bring: certification card, bathing suit, sunblock, towel, light sweater (winter and spring season), hat and sunglasses. If you are prone to motion sickness, we recomend you to take the appropriate medication at least one hour before boarding the boat, do not let seasickness ruins your dive.

Boarding time and place: our departure is at 9:00 am, from Marina “Los Peines”, you need to be there 25 minutes before boarding time. Click here to locate Los Peines.

Prohibited items: please be adviced that Mexico’s Federal Maritime Ports operate a strict No-drug Policy, which includes electronic cigarettes, vapers, and all kind of drugs. Please do not bring them on any of our tours. We cannot offer you a refund or change of day to any guest to who Federal Security has denied access.
